5G networks, combined with millions of IoT devices, have stirred IPTV evolution with the implementation of AI and machine learning. Cloud computing is strongly supporting AI systems to enable advanced features. Proprietary AI recommendation systems are being widely adopted by streaming services to capture audience interest with their own distinctive features. The video industry has been transformed with a modernized approach.
A larger video bitrate, either through resolution or frame rate advancements, has been a primary focus in boosting audience satisfaction and gaining new users. The breakthrough in recent years were driven by new standards crafted by industry stakeholders.
Several proprietary software stacks with a smaller footprint are on the verge of production.
